Canada’s 150 Red Couch Continues its Cross-Country Journey in Labrador

OTTAWA (May 18th, 2017) - After having completed a very successful trip to Northern Canada, the Red Couch Tour continues its journey. On May 21st the Red Couch team and the couch will land in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador.  The red couch team is working with the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and Destination Labrador to reach out to local communities across Labrador where community members will be invited to sit on the couch and speak on what Canada means to them on the 150th Anniversary.

The Red Couch project will create an excellent opportunity to feature stories from Labrador and to be heard in the rest of Canada.  While giving a testimony from the red couch, every person will be filmed. Their video testimonies will be collected and broadcast through the social media channels.

The Red Couch Tour will celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary by traveling from coast to coast to coast.

It is one of 38 signature projects selected by the Government of Canada to create opportunities for Canadians to celebrate and build a sense of pride and attachment to Canada.

The Red Couch Tour is one of the few Canada 150 Signature Initiative projects that will reach out to Labrador.
